 Thank you for visiting us on the web. The reason that the church is here is to share the welcome that Jesus gives out to everybody who wants to find out more about him. Here are a couple of the ways in which Jesus spoke about the welcome he offers:
'Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. ... I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly.' (The Bible, Matthew chapter 11, The Message translation) 'This is how much God loved the world: he gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no-one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.'  We are pleased to welcome you to Lenzie Union Parish Church and to offer you a little more information about the church and congregation.
The congregation was founded in the late 19th century but we try to be active in the present and to make progress toward the future. The church buildings are central to the community of Lenzie and our members are at the centre of many aspects of community life. Many people have found the congregation warm and receptive and we trust that you will too, whether you are a visitor or an occasional or regular worshipper with us. Our aim is to serve God and to let Jesus Christ be known as we live for Him. We hope that you will share in this with us, however long or short your stay may be. |
